Symptoms of Depression
- Poor or low self-esteem
- Isolating yourself from other people
- Feelings of hopelessness or helplessness
- Inability to sleep well
- Low energy
- Loss of interest in your normal everyday activities
- Difficulty making decisions
- Difficulty concentrating
- Weight fluctuations or changes
- Feeling agitated or restless or physically slowed in movements
- Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
- ‘brain fog”- experiencing a diminished ability to think, concentrate or make decisions
That’s the thing about depression: A human being can survive almost anything, as long as she sees the end in sight. But depression is so insidious, and it compounds daily, that it’s impossible to ever see the end. The fog is like a cage without a key.
